Miguel Chevalier
Since 1978, Miguel Chevalier has used computers as a means of expression in the field of visual arts. He is known all over the world as one of the pioneers of visual and digital art.
His body of work is experimental and multidisiciplinary. It stems from his reformulation of the essential data of art history.
Miguel's work tackles the question of immateriality in art, as well as the logical systems emerging from the computer; such as hybridization, generativity, interactivity, and networking. He develops various themes: for example the relation between nature and artifice, the observable currents and networks which organise our contemporary societies, and the imaginary architecture of virtual cities. The resultant images perpetually question the relation in which we stand to the world.
Miguel Chevalier holds multiple exhibitions in museums, arts centres and galleries all over the world. He also realises architectural projects in public spaces.
